are based on years of experience.

Hardware Recommendations

Pentium Processors (no Pentium Celeron's or AMD chipsets) Pentium processors
are the most reliable and cost effective long term.

APC battery backup for each machine (the least expensive models will suffice.)

512 to 1024 GB of RAM.

For high speed Internet, get a Linksys router with a built in Firewall - We strongly
recommend using a hardware firewall over a software firewall

Get a 10/100 network card - NO 10/100/1000 network cards

For backup we like the Iomega Zip Drives and the new Iomega Rev drives. You
can use a CD recordable drive but often times staff won't back up to CD's because
it's a harder and a more complicated process

Microsoft XP Professional (not XP Home)

Microsoft Office Basic for your Word Processor and office productivity

We recommend AVG anti-virus and it's free to download in our Free Tools page
**install the anti-virus before connecting to the Internet

HP desk jet and Laser Printers are the industry standard and are the easiest to
setup in MediSoft
